Self-described as “smooth music from the future,” English band PREP’s new track “Year’s Don’t Lie” is this week’s Catch of the Week. A conglomeration of artists from different backgrounds, including hip-hop, house, and pop, PREP’s slick production and addicting melodies are reminiscent of the sophisti-pop and RnB bands of the 70s and 80s, such as Steely Dan and fellow Londoners The Style Council. With dreamy-synths, disco-style guitar leads and and an exquisite sax solo, “Years Don’t Lie” is a perfect soundtrack to a warm sunset at the beach.
