Since we are all spending more time at home, we asked the Orange County-based group to share with us a recipe they love to make. L, the lead singer of the band, took us step by step on how to make this refreshing watermelon salad!

“I’m by no means a home chef, and by all means a watermelon addict. I’ve always got at least 2 melons in the kitchen ready to go and I just stocked up on a few more because we’re nearing the end of the season aka the end of summer. I tried this awesome watermelon salad recipe a few weeks ago and had to share it!”

Watermelon Salad
5 cups or about 1/4 of a large watermelon, cubed
1 1/2 cups yellow grape or cherry tomatoes, halved
1/2 small red onion, chopped
1/2 cup freshly torn basil leaves
1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
Ground black pepper to taste
2 TB honey

In a large bowl, combine all ingredients

Use rubber spatula to gently stir together

Cover and chill

Let chill no more than 1 hour before serving
